Perla Paredes Hernandez

Hi, I’m Perla Paredes Hernandez, a sports journalist who has always seen sports as a universal language. I was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and moved to the U.S. at 9, learning English while navigating a new world. But through it all, sports were constant. I grew up watching soccer, fell in love with baseball in Houston, and felt an immense pride for UT Austin football. No matter where I have been, sports have helped me feel connected, and that is what I hope to do for others through storytelling. Because like life, sports move in waves, and I want to be there to cover every beat.
